Achem Consulting provides general services to the analytical chemical instrument community. A principle focus is in providing consulting assistance when used analytical instruments are considered for laboratory purchase.
Chemical Instrument Support
While there are many good companies that provide used equipment, and often offer installation and support, considerable saving may be had when purchasing used equipment at auction, or through surplus dealers, or company liquidations. Equipment sold in this way, often over the Internet, usually has limited supporting information and documentation, and pictures that do not always provide the necessary information. When this expenditure may be in the tens of thousands of dollars, and a similar amount may be saved when purchasing from liquidators or auction sites it is often prudent to obtain a site inspection of the equipment.
Research Your Investment
Many labs simply do not have the resources to send one of their employees to a site for a detailed site inspection. Achem Consulting provides this needed service. We will travel to the site for a detailed inspection of the instrument of interest; determine, objectively, its condition and any needed parts or likely service, in addition to providing detailed picture documentation, which may be used if any claim for shipping damage is incurred. Depending on the needs of our clients, we will insure proper packing, and inclusion of all necessary manuals, documentation, spares, and ancillary parts that are often overlooked by well-meaning, but untrained personnel at these locations. There have been times when computer interfaces, software or other cables have been unintentionally separated and left out of the purchase, with the replacement costs being significant.

In addition, we will conduct off-site inspection via phone and Internet for those who are expanding their lab facilities but are unsure of their needs, or where an on-site inspection may not be needed.
